Katy Morrison is an award-winning immersive media producer and academic working across documentary, screen and performance, and emerging media.
As co-founder of pioneering Australian VR studio VRTOV, Katy produced some of Australia’s earliest and most internationally recognised Virtual Reality works. Her VR work has been commissioned by broadcasters including the BBC and SBS, and screened at festivals including Sundance, Tribeca, and Venice.
Katy now co-directs Frame Documentary, Australia’s immersive documentary accelerator, where she leads curriculum design, program delivery, and research-aligned creative development.
Alongside her immersive practice, Katy is an experienced documentary producer, line-producer and researcher, with credits including Who The Bloody Hell Are We? (SBS) and the award-winning Our African Roots (SBS).
Katy is a current doctoral researcher in immersive storytelling at Deakin University, a member of the Deakin Motion Lab, and a member of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society at RMIT.
